EN: [HDV] Pai World War II Memorial Bridge

The Tha Pai World War II Memorial Bridge was built in 1942 by the Japanese when they needed a transportation route from Chiang Mai to Myanmar. It is similar in stature to its more famous counterpart, the bridge over the river Kwai in the Kanchanaburi province of central west Thailand.

Today the bridge is one of Pai’s major tourist attractions and is located about 9 km south of Pai along highway 1095.
